CHILOMBO will finally hit the streets next Friday. Jhené Aiko’s anticipated album is almost at our fingertips, but as we await its arrival, the singer has shared her latest single “Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E.)” featuring Miguel and Future. The song spins tales of meeting someone you’re so attracted to that you may do some things out of character—moves that some may classify as “hoe” behavior. The feel-good vibe of the song stays in line with Jhené Aiko’s steady stream of releases. She recently told Essence in an interview that while she shares herself with the world openly, what people see is just a glimpse into her entire existence.
“I share about one percent of my whole being with the internet,” she said. “Even in my songs, that’s literally one moment that I’m talking about or when I felt that way. There’s so much more to my relationship with my [late] brother [Miyagi], or with my daughter, or with Sean. People hear a song like ‘Triggered’ and they’re like, ‘Oh, do we hate him now?’ In the grand scheme of things that was like a moment.”
